Why Cottontail Media?
Cottontail rabbits have always lived around me. I don’t know if this is because I am always looking for them, or if it is because they are following me. I noticed them when I lived in Montreal, I noticed them when I lived in Somerville, I noticed them when they used to dig through my trash in Worcester. Now I notice them here, at my home in Hampshire County, and I love them. Other than being my power animal, cottontail rabbits are nimble, resourceful, and fast on their feet—sort of like my video production style.
So who is this Jason guy, anyway?
I’m a graduate student studying lens based art. I have a journalism degree from the University of Massachusetts, and really care about art and the power media has to shape how we see the world and each other. I also think making videos is just really really fun. I treat it more like an art than a job, so when you work with me, you are working with someone who cares about his craft.
When I don’t have a camera in my hand, I am riding a gravel bike around the backroads of Western Massachusetts, reading, cooking from a giant Lebanese cookbook, making art, or writing flash fiction.
Oh, by the way, my pal Erin Long took that photo of me. Thanks Erin!
